Job Description

Our Client, one of the largest Property and Casualty insurance groups globally are looking to attract a Finance Manager for their operation based in Dublin.  The Dublin operation delivers global business services through Financial Reporting, Reinsurance Administration, Strategic Advisory Services, Technology Services, as well as Mergers and Acquisitions support to the Parent Company Subsidiaries across Asia, LATAM, CEE, Caribbean and MENA regions, in addition to the head office in Canada.  Reporting to the director of Financial reporting, the role will focus on a major regional insurance group with operations across the MENA region (recently acquired). The role will be based in Dublin but with an element of travel likely to be involved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting – joint leadership of a Dublin based financial reporting team responsible for engaging with finance, actuarial and management teams across the MENA subsidiaries to ensure  delivery of financial reporting requirements
  • Relationship Management – engaging with stakeholders (C-suite included) in Toronto and MENA
  • Leadership and Mentoring – develop skillsets within the Dublin and MENA financial reporting teams, provide cross training to grow the support capabilities across teams.
  • Change Management – supporting MENA strategic initiatives, ensure the right communication, planning and training/engagement is in place for successful change.
  • Problem Solving and Critical Thinking – ability to research, digest information and produce concrete solutions.
  • Quality & Delivery – hands on interest to ensure the final output meets the highest business value expectations.

 

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant with 10+ years PQE with strong financial reporting experience gained in a multinational (re)insurance company / group or consultancy.
  • Strong IFRS accounting knowledge – with experience of IFRS 17 essential
    Experience of a multinational corporate reporting environment (consolidation and investment accounting experience an advantage)
  • Proven ability to lead teams, very strong communicator (collaborative at all costs)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy being very proactive in actions and communications – gets things done
  • Ability to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges of the role.
  • Excellent presentation skills communicating complex content in a coherent and comprehensive manner, given the audience level
